Here’s the game recap from Hotbed Hoops…
Game notes
– The best player on the floor tonight was former Flint Central standout Demetrius Miller. He scored 14 points with five rebounds and four assists. More importantly, he played 30 minutes worth of defense on Owens’ best guard. I’m somewhat surprised by the speed of his development into a top-tier point guard. He’s the best point guard Mott has right now.
– That best guard is point guard Michael Lee, a 5-11 sophomore from Wayne Memorial. This kid is a warrior. Lee had 18 points to lead Owens.
– Mott started 6-6 freshman forward Mike Brigham tonight for the first time this season. Save for Torian Oglesby, Brigham has been the most consistent offensive threat for the Bears all season. He showed off a little mid-range game tonight as well.
– Freshman Virgil McGuire played sparingly for Owens. The former standout at Jackson High scored two points and had some difficulty keeping track of Miller.
