Youtube might just be the best recruiting tool there is these days. With college budgets tightening, especially at lower levels, more and more players who want to get noticed are making highlight reels and putting them online. (Let’s be honest, most players don’t have college recruiters coming to their games.)
Lapeer West senior guard Anthony Sisson is the latest to use the power of the Internet for recruiting purposes. (Holly senior guard Thomas Lovachis got his Youtube on earlier this season.) Sisson joins current and former mid-Michigan players like Joey Jerisk (Burton Bentley), Michael Martin (Flint Northern), Shane Moreland (Flint Powers), Brad Redford (Frankenmuth), Tyler Gray (Frankenmuth), Spencer Jennings (Midland Dow), Kieon Arkwright (Flint Carman-Ainsworth) and even his little brother, Jaylon, have posted videos on Youtube.
Give me a shout if you know of others…

what good is a highlight video? i’m sure coaches are not that interested in seeing some guy never miss a shot. even i would have have a nice vid that way.
It just gives coaches an idea of what kind of player they are looking at…i.e. spot-up shooter, slasher, stopper…etc. Most coaches aren’t going to give away a scholarship without seeing someone up close, though I’m sure it has happened.
Think Eric Puls got a preferred walkon just by sending a highlight video to Beilein. So it can’t hurt. But hopefully coaching takes these never miss no mistake videos with a grain of salt. Actually, wait a minute, the only fella I ever saw with a reality based video was Shane Moreland’s, who honestly and with integrity included some missed shots and passes and such. That didn’t work out for him too well if the video was the deciding factor! Meanwhile Frankenhype’s Redford video was so slick even his teammates wheren’t shown making mistakes, and he’s now brought his circus act to Xavier? Hmmmm …..
