Muhammad El-Amin scored 25 for Stony Brook in their season opener.

Probably the most imposing JUCO guard I’ve seen since I began covering the MCCAA four years ago, Muhammad El-Amin, is really getting his offensive game off at Stony Brook.

In the opening game of his senior season, El-Amin poured in 25 points to lead the Seawolves to victory over Maryland-Eastern Shore.

El-Amin, who won a state title at Holt, went to Ferris State after a year at Lansing Community College and then returned to LCC a year later.

His size (6-5 and 210 pounds), strength and scoring ability were unaparalled for a guard at the JUCO level.

At the division one level, El-Amin is up to his old tricks. As a junior, El-Amin scored nearly 16 points per game, hit a decent percentage from 3-point range and didn’t really pass the ball — that’s his modus operandi.

Mu spent a year at LCC before leaving for Ferris. As a frosh he was on the LCC squad with Ron Banks. It’s good to see a positive article about Mu.
