Prediction: Skill will trump size tonight as Flint Powers takes on Flint C-A

The best game in Flint on Friday night is at Flint Carman-Ainsworth as the Cavaliers take on Big Nine rival Flint Powers.

On paper this looks like a really good game. The Cavs were a Patrick Lucas-Perry basket short of winning two out of three against the eventual class B state champions last season and return pretty much everybody.

This season, Flint Powers is as good or better and showed it on opening night against a pretty good Flint Northwestern squad.

Flint C-A, however, was on the ropes against a Grand Blanc team depleted by defection.

Key matchup: Junior Patrick Lucas-Perry versus Senior Glenn Cosey — Arguably the top two point guards in the Flint  area, these two are both capable of single-handedly changing the game.

If Cosey can get his big men (seniors Jaylen Larry and Dee Chapman) involved, the Cavs are capable of pulling the upset. But that’s the only way. Patrick O’Brien, PLP and Demarco Sanders can score with anyone in Michigan, and no team can keep all three in check.

Further, we will see what the Cavs’ young stars are made of. Will freshman Denzel Watts and sophomore Anton Wilson be able to handle the fast pace of Powers?

Prediction: Flint Powers by eight

I hear Carman won. Not sure of the stats of the game though.

    Also.
I attended the SWA-Midland Dow game.
SWA won 74-66. Midland Dow was surprisingly a really good shooting team. But Jojuan Graham lead all scorers with 26, I believe it was, and Chick McLaurin had 17 to add to it. Josh Young had his fair share of assists as well. The thing that got me was the fact that SWA was at a height disadvantage yet still managed to rule the boards. A young team. Can’t wait for the city games.

Well without height i dont see them beating northern this year

CA has the most raw talent in the city.. motivation is the issue..I can understand that though..their Coach is an idiot
