Game of the night: Can Glenn Cosey stop George Goodman?

Posted: February 12, 2010 by Jared Field in High School

The game of the night in Mid-Michigan is at Flint Carman-Ainsworth where the Cavaliers will attempt to bounce back after yet another embarrassing loss to Flint Powers.  The problem, of course, is that Saginaw Buena Vista is almost as good as Powers. The Knights are among the top class C teams in the state with wins over class A schools like Flint Northwestern and Ypsilanti.

The big question, however, is whether C-A’s Glenn Cosey can stop George Goodman. Goodman, a junior, is one of the top guards in the state in the 2011 class and is lightning quick. Cosey needs to put last Friday night’s poor performance behind him and prove that he’s a legit next-level player.

Prediction: C-A by seven. I think the Cavs’ senior  big men,  6-7 Jaylen Larry and 6-6 Dee Chapman, should have their way with Buena Vista. Then again, I said the same thing about Flint Hamady’s forwards and we all know how that turned out. In the final analysis, a good class A team should always beat a great class C team.

  1. coach says:

Goodman had an easy 35 without help no player on ca could do anything with george

  2. dale wright says:

BV outplayed CA last night but didnt come out with the win. thats saying something when they only have one player over 6′ 4″. As for George Goodman, he is no joke, he has the quickest moves ive seen from a high school player in a while. I saw him cross Glenn Cosey multiple times leaving him in his tracks. And get this, he almost dunked after a play in the third quarter. he is a major D-1 recruit. I also thought the bigs for CA played really soft, but i guess thats how they always play. jaylen larry especially. Goodman was obviously the highlight of the night, but BV’s bigs did a great job of checking CA’s

    • Y jones says:

I beg to differ. Jaylen Larry had a pretty good game against BV. He did not play soft, in fact he showed some great potential.

  3. Keep in mind that they lost though…

  4. Baller14 says:

Yea its hard to win when CA shot 35 free throws in the 2nd half and BV only shot 6.

    • Jared Field says:

Let’s be fair. BV was actually trying to put C-A on the line in the fourth.

And C-A did its part by missing like eight in a row during one stretch.

BV has nothing to be ashamed of. C-A is probably 2 1/2 times its size.

    • Y jones says:

Meaning what.. the foul calling was pretty good. C/A usually have the hard time with the refs. BV had some major mistakes. Give C/A credit.

  5. The Ball says:

Ok he had 35 but that don’t mean anything if you don’t win.
