I say Sweet Sixteen and done. A good season, but not by MSU standards.

Based on the way things are going I say 16 also. They certainly have more potential than that. They just seem to be coming apart at the seams.

    • Jared Field says:

One legit post and average perimeter shooters. Don’t see it this year unless Roe gets it together.

State is awful tough the second game of a weekend. Everything that makes them such an easy prep for everybody in their conference (the system, all of the same sets they’ve ran for 15 years) makes them a tough prep for teams out of conference that don’t see them twice a year. I think this lends itself to Izzo’s tournament success. Say what you want to about him, but he is as good as there is in the business in one day turn-around situations. I think if they can get a 3 seed they are an Elite 8 Team, 4 or 5 seed they are out after the Sweet 16. I’d just assume see them fall to a 6 seed!

Flint: That’s probably the most insightful MSU take I’ve read…well…ever.

I saw them projected in Sporting News today as a 4-seed. I doubt that will change once they lose to Purdue on the road.
