Startling stat: (57) Demarco Sanders’ field goal percentage

It’s not every day you come across a statistic that makes run the numbers through your trusty calculator three times.

This one, however, did.

Flint Powers’ 6-2 senior shooting guard Demarco Sanders is averaging 19 points per game this season with nearly five rebounds. That’s good, but this is great: Sanders is shooting 57% from the field this season. That number, I doubt I need to tell you, is ridiculous for a high school guard — especially for a player who shoots a ton from mid-range and beyond. It also should be noted that Powers has played an incredible schedule this season.

He has worked his tail off the past three years to get where he is…which in my mind means he will appreciate the payoff even more because no one was handing him a thing just a few years back.

He really has steped up his play this year

    Must be because he’s left-handed!!

Gotta give a shout out to all my fellow Southpaws out there!

Interesting how he looks like he may have become better than some more heralded teammates (and it’s not because the more well-known guys did poorly!)

      Congratulations to DeMarco.

I’m sure some college somewhere must be thinking about a scholarship for him. Is there any news?
