Startling Stat: (72) in Flushing’s win over Swartz Creek

Posted: March 3, 2010 by Jared Field in High School

After Flushing drained a 3-pointer before the halftime, the Raiders took a one-point lead into the locker room. From there, they shot the lights out. Flushing, as a team, shot 16-for-22 from the field for a ridiculous 72 percent. They were 31-of-49 for the game and 7-for-9 from 3-point range. The Raiders won by 13.

Brent Myers, a reserve junior forward, came off the bench poppin’. He scored a career-high 32 points.

Poor defense? I wasn’t there, but it’s tough to give up 32 points against anyone and win.

I know Brent Myers, I bet he hasn’t scored a total of 32 in all previous games combined. That is some sick shooting. Jeremy’s teams always play intense defense, hard to believe they would lay down on defense against Flushing.

  2. Gavin Raath says:

Good to see another Flushing junior stepping up other than Andrew Kujat.

  3. linman says:

How about Fenton shooting about 30% with 15-20 turnovers down by 6 with a minute left with the ball at Powers. Still think Fenton is the best out of the Metro. Creek still has to win this week to get a split.

  4. Marcellus Miller says:

Powers does certainly have defensive shortcomings…
