St.Clair County Community College’s Journey to the NJCAA National Tournament

Day 3:  Wednesday, March 17, 2010
With No game today it was just a team bonding and remembrance day for the Skippers (but we did have a nice smooth practice today). After our 9 am practice we went to get some fast food and just relaxed back at the hotel until dinner time.

For dinner we went to the best Steak restaurant in Indiana (five minutes away from our hotel in ILL). The food was good and everybody on the team enjoyed a steak. Theres nothing like having a FREE steak dinner! After dinner we came back to the hotel and played NCAA 10 in Brandon Thompson’s room on the XBOX. I think I was the only one who didn’t know how to play so I was the “Cinderella Story” as some might say lol. I got to give it to “B” he good though but he did hit some lucky stuff lol. I got a win under my belt though. We couldn’t play too many game because we had to be in our rooms at 10 pm because we got to get up at 6:15 am for our game against Bismarck St. at 9am.

After sitting around thinking about the game plan for tomorrow’s game, I came to a conclusion that we need to come in to the game and crash the boards and get good penetration and get good shots on offense. Another key will be containing their back door cuts when we’re on defense. I’m not worried, I know we will be good and I’m going to bounce back in this game and have a good game and lead our team on to the next round.

My bro Terrance “TK” Keaton will be a key for us inside tomorrow. I talked to him and he told me that he’s gone clean up on the glass and be a bruiser down low (we need you big fella!). Oh yea and Eric Mack is going to shoot lights out ( I know you will bro!). I just got that feeling. After a heartbreaking loss we always come back hard and this will be no different than any other time. Talking with Coach (Dale) Vos, Coach Grouix and Coach Cox they all said the same thing which was that we can compete with any team here and we are capable to bringing home some hardware from this tourney. It’s Go Hard or Go Home Skipps! We always say FAMILY after our huddle so lets stick together as a family and get this win. OH LET’S DO IT!!

Stay Tuned for More on the St. Clair County Skippers Tomorrow……..

  1. Jared Field says:

You have to be talking about Beef House. Probably the best restaurant in the Midwest.

SC4 defeated Bismarck State 93-87 this morning. They play Monroe (NY) next at 11 AM on Friday. Go Skippers!

  3. JucoJunkie says:

Grand Rapids CC defeated Waubonsee 77-60 today. They play Pima CC tomorrow right after the SC4-Monroe game. If SC4 and GRCC both win, they’ll meet in the 7th & 8th place game on Saturday. Go MCCAA!
