Tracking St. Clair’s Journey to the NJCAA National Tournament

Day 5:  Friday, March 19, 2010

Today was another good day for us. With the first game at 11 am, we got a chance to get to the gym early and get shots up. This helped us the last game and the results were no different today . We defeated Monroe who was the #1 ranked team coming into the national tournament, 83-67. I think they thought they were going to come into this game and pound us, but they had another thing coming. Yeah, they were bigger than us (like most teams have been this year) but we played harder and wanted it more than they did.

We outrebounded them and beat them to loose balls. Eric Mack shot 50% from the 3pt line and finished with 16pts, Jake Stark had 16pts and 10 rebounds, Marquis Lee had 11 pts and a sick one handed tip dunked. I finished the game with 24pts and 4 assists. With 16 teams here we are among the 8 teams left playing for 7th and 8th place tomorrow at 12pm against Pima Community College.

Who thought the St. Clair Skippers from Port Huron would be in this position? I guess it don’t matter because we here and about to bring home some Hardwood…One more game Skipps. OH LET’S DO IT!!!
