Report: CMU close to wooing Zeigler

Posted: April 13, 2010 by Jared Field in High School

I can promise you that, a few years back, Ben Howland never dreamed he would have to compete for a blue chip prospect with Central Michigan; but, there he is. Throughout this process, I’ve been convinced that that Ray McCallum, Jr. was more likely to go to Detroit than Zeigler was to go to CMU. It now appears as if both will follow dad.

From the Detroit Free Press:

Mt. Pleasant wing Trey Zeigler, the son of CMU head coach Ernie Zeigler, is set to make a decision regarding the school at which he will play his collegeĀ ball, and recent indications have the Chippewas very much in the mix.

The younger Zeigler, ranked as the No. 26 player in the nation by Rivals.com, narrowed his list to CMU, Michigan, UCLA, Michigan State and Arizona State a few weeks ago, but recent rumblings had him down to CMU and UCLA.
