Two Flintstones traded in the same week: Bell, Peterson on the move

Imagine that our two Flintstones in the NBA could get traded in the same week. I was over at Mott earlier this week watching Charlie Bell in an open gym with a who’s who of local high school, college and professional players. Perhaps the impending trade from Milwaukee to Golden State (which went down later that day) was signaled by his somewhat lackluster play in the scrimmage. He didn’t much resemble the Charlie of old, so perhaps that was weighing on his mind. Golden State is not the best situation for Bell, to put it mildly.

And then last night, Morris Peterson was dealt to Oklahoma City from New Orleans.

Here’s analysis from Patrick Hayes on Mlive:

Peterson came back this year from an injury-plagued 2008-2009 season and was fully healthy by the end of this season. He’s always been considered one of the best locker room guys in the league and will be a nice veteran addition to the very young but very talented Thunder squad.

That means New Orleans plans on keeping Chris Paul around. Mo and Paul didn’t get along. Part of the reason he was benched early in the year.
