Mott slams Kellogg by 50 for third straight win

FLINT, Michigan — The Mott Community College Bears rode a 32-point halftime lead to a 98-48 win over 4-1 Kellogg on Monday night. Mott had six players in double-figures led by sophomore Mike Brigham, who scored 16 points with eight rebounds.

The Bears’ guard play finally rounded into form last night, led by sophomore guard Demetrius Miller, who poured in 15 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Mott’s other double-figure scorers were Doug Anderson (15), Leviante Davis (14), Sam Burton (10) and Laron Rodgers (10).

Also, one note on Davis: If Mott’s guards continue to look for the beefy and athletic sophomore, he’s going to really pose a problem for every team in this conference. Davis went 5-for-7 from the floor on Tuesday night in only 13 minutes of action. On the season, big Gore is shooting 70% from the field.

In an odd twist of irony, Kellogg’s leading scorer and rebounded was former Mott reserve forward Aaron Brooks (Battle Creek). Brooks finished with 14 points and seven rebounds and looked pretty darn good doing it.

University of Detroit head coach Ray McCallum was in attendance.
