FLINT, Michigan — It was a Saturday afternoon drubbing little different than what Mott fans remember from the Kevin Tiggs era in Flint.

The 12-2 Mott Community College Bears steamrolled Alpena (6-3), 89-35. Mott had only two players play more than 20 minutes in the game.

From the opening tip to the final buzzer, Mott’s guards absolutely suffocated Alpena on the perimeter, forcing the Lumberjacks into 35 turnovers.

Mott led by 26 at the half and allowed only 12 points in the next 20 minutes. Alpena shot just 17% from the field in the half.

For the second straight game, Mott was led by sophomore point guard Demetrius Miller who scored 16 points on eight shots. He also had three assists, two steals and zero turnovers. Sophomores Mike Brigham and Doug Anderson had 15 and 14 points, respectively.

The trio of Leviante Davis, Sam Burton and Marshawn Norris had 10 points apiece. Burton added eight assists and four steals.

Alpena did not have a player in double-figures.

Key stat: Mott had 25 assists and 16 turnovers as a team. Alpena had three assists and 35 turnovers.

not gonna have a chance when you have as many turnovers as points. I don’t believe I’ve seen that in a long while.
