Something that Mott Community College basketball fans never got to see last year was a fully healthy Bobby Lewis.

Lewis, a captain of Mott’s team a year ago, battled through an assortment of injuries, particularly to his back. And although he played his way through them admirably, he was never able to show off his complete array of skills.

This season, as a member of the Northwood basketball team, GLIAC fans are getting a glimpse of just what a healthy Lewis is capable of. From MLive.com:

After two strong performances this past week, Lewis was named GLIAC North Division Player of the Week.  Lewis had 25 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists in Northwood’s 89-80 win over Ashland on Dec. 16. He followed it up with 22 points, 11 rebounds and just 1 turnover as the Timberwolves beat Lake Erie College 82-77 on Dec. 18.

Lewis is averaging nearly 18 points and 8 rebounds per game for Northwood this season.

  1. Jared Field says:

Bobby’s recruitment took a hit after his injury-plagued sophomore season at Mott.

Bobby, when healthy, is really good. A tough slasher and solid perimeter shooter.
