Mott sophomore Doug Anderson took what had been competitive game and blew it wide open tonight at Delta. Mott, now 22-2 on the season, trailed by a point at the half and looked to be on the ropes when sophomore Mike Brigham picked up his fourth foul early in the second half.
From that point on Anderson stepped up and completely dominated the game, finishing with 27 points, 10 rebounds and two assists in the 86-65 win.
Mott sophomore Laron Rodgers had another solid game in place of Brigham. He scored 11 points with five rebounds.
Delta’s steady big man, Winthrop Thomas, led the Pioneers with 18 points. Thomas played 38 minutes, and for good reason. Delta Coach Lonnie Griffin doesn’t have a viable replacement to spell him, and I think the fatigue showed in the second half.
Brigham was the only other Bear in double figures. He had 10 points.
Mott will be back on the road Wednesday at Macomb.
Former Flint Southwestern standout Jojuan Graham came off the bench to spark the Pioneers, shooting 6-for-7 from the floor for 14 points.
