The University of Detroit is hoping a pair of transfers with Mid-Michigan ties can bolster a frontcourt that lost some depth from a season ago. LaMarcus Lowe, who played at Flint Northwestern in high school and at Western Michigan before transferring, and Jackson Community College transfer Nick Minnerath of Massachusetts could both see significant action. From College Hoops Net
If his offense ever comes around, Lowe will be a dynamic player. However, Lowe can block shots and hit the glass while junior college transfer Nick Minnerath does the scoring under the basket …
The frontcourt, and (Eli) Holman, may miss the toughness and scoring ability of (Mott grad) Thomas Kennedy, but Lowe and Minnerath should fill in perfectly fine.
There is no doubt Lowe will block shots at that level. It’s been a while since he played at Western, but with his height and athleticism, if he’s used the last year to get stronger, he could be a major force in the Horizon League.
