FLINT, Michigan — It was a put up or shut up type of game for no. 4-ranked Mott Community College on Saturday versus rival Henry Ford.

One of the Bears’ two losses this season came at the hands of HFCC on the road back in January, when the Hawks scored on the final play of the game to win by one.

The cream rose to the top the second time around as Mott soundly beat the Hawks, 81-67, in front of a packed house at the Steve Schmidt Gymnasium.

FLINT, Michigan — Sophomore Mike Brigham scored 17 points and pulled down nine rebounds in 18 minutes of play to lead Mott to an 83-48 victory over Macomb Saturday afternoon.

The Bears led by 17 at the half and continued the onslaught in the second, led by sophomore guard Demetrius Miller. The lefty point guard connected on four of his six 3-point attempts in the game to finish win 14.

Doug Anderson added 15 on 6-for-10 shooting.

For Macomb’s top scorer, sophomore Alan Hardy, was held below his average but still finished with 18. He scored a dozen from the charity stripe. Hardy was Macomb’s only double-figure scorer.

Another bright spot for Mott was the play of sophomore sharpshooter Ricky Rowse, who connected on two 3-pointers and another shot with his foot on the line.

Mott returns to action on Saturday against St. Clair.
