What player has surprised high school basketball fans in Michigan more than Jordan Bitzer?
Bitzer, who prepped at Unionvilla-Sebewaing area in Michigan’s thumb region, went to Central Michigan with a precious little buzz. He wasn’t a big name player in the state and many thought he’d be a nice reserve guard, a spot-up shooter and role player.
Forget that.
Bitzer has become the Chippewa’s best player. Last night, in a loss to Princeton, Bitzer scored 19 points with six rebounds and three assists. Oh, and he played 39 minutes.
He’s one of the last men standing at CMU, a school that has had a difficult time keeping some bigger names from some bigger cities on the roster.
