EAST LANSING — Michigan State basketball players will have a new teammate when Dion Sims jumps from shoulder pads into a tank top and shorts.
The football tight end, who finished fourth in Mr. Basketball voting as a senior at Orchard Lake St. Mary’s High School, will join the Spartans basketball team Sunday after the team returns from a game at Iowa.
My Take: This is a coup for Michigan State at this point in the season. Sims is a bonafide player, among the top in the state as a senior, and can be an impact player once Izzo gets the rust off.
